 "The world will note that the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, a military base.  We run the race of discovery against the Germans.  We have used it in order to shorten the agony of war; in order to save the lives of thousands and thousands of young Americans.  We shall continue to use it until we completely destroy Japan’s power to make war."

We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend causes that were, for the moment, unpopular.
